we can do this the easy way .. or the really easy way

A company called SynthaSite has just unveiled its new, improved and easier-to-use interface for building Web sites. SynthaSite’s goal is to provide a graphical drag-and-drop interface that enables un-Web-saavy business owners and even your proverbial grandmother to build their own sites. (No, seriously — one of the samples offered in the press release is a guestbook site created for the user’s 88-year-old mother. It’s called Grammy’s Corner.) To make that happen, usability is crucial, and SynthaSite — founded in South Africa, but now headquartered in San Francisco — has made some real progress.

web 2.0 puts the screws to IT

Social computing technologies a/k/a Web 2.0 staples like wikis, blogs, social networking, RSS, and more are making their way into the business world.

This movement, dubbed Enterprise 2.0, is no small shift. But the change encompasses more than just the introduction of social software to the business world – it also relates to the movement of server software from in-house data centers to the cloud, the rise of a mobile workforce, the rebirth of thin client computing, a self-provisioning user base, and more.

IT may never be the same.

newsgator+sharepoint=enterprise rss?

Courtesy of author Kristen Nicole at Mashable! (the Mentos of blogs – it’s the ‘Fresh-Maker’) comes this piece of enterprise 2.0 goodness … seems web 2.0 and the enterprise may finally be taking that tentative first step towards one another. And to prove the point, RSS darling NewsGator (my personal fav) has incorporated support for Microsoft Sharepoint, Among Other Upgrades.

NewsGator announced that the Social Sites add-on for its enterprise server edition, which allows employees to interact, share news, search for items, and generally keep up with what’s going on in the company,
will henceforth be available for business use. Also included in the launch is support for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and 3.0. NewsGator also recently launched its Facebook application to allow non-enterprise users to sort of do the same thing (kind of).

Thought about taking a shot a blogging? This blog is yours. Unlike most where the author is looking for independent appeal, Mazayar Hedayat’s total intent was to share this technology with everyone @ DCBA Bar. We have no real guide lines to what we will or won’t post, common sense prevails. But why go it alone, send us some content and .jpg of yourself or firm, we’ll throw it up there and see what happens. This is a marketing tool, we already have developed a growing readership. We monitor the tracking reports everyday seeing where they came from, what they read, what they clicked-through on their journey. Start here before investing your valuable time and hard earned dollars.

Knowingly, Adobe page gets the most attention. Mr Middleton gets us the current updates for webinars and downloads. Mr Bornstein, who is based here in Schaumburg, heads Adobe’s Legal Sector, being the National Rep who cris-crosses the country attending Legal Seminars has expressed an interest in doing a presentation for DCBA. However, we need to prove there would be an attendance.

LPM Committee has developed numerous relationships with a wide-range of technology providers right here in DuPage. We even have TOP distributors recommending TOP VARs (Value Added Resellers) too address your growing needs. Don’t want to talk to Sales People fine, let us help you focus on your plans within budget. The committee was formed to not only help you identify new technology but obtain it without getting over-run by slick promises. And each of you have a horror story about that……

Most blogs run by groups or organizations is intended to address it’s membership. LPM’s intent is to help you address the world. Our readership from around the world would like to see if the members of DCBA embrace this, many of your own peers are looking for a simple entry…..drop us line.
